For the first time ever, I have to call out one of my favorite web sites.
He’s WRONG!
If you’re an “early merger,” you might think you’re being nice, but you’re backing up traffic even further. If you’re a “late merger,” people will think you’re a jerk, but you’re maximizing road space, shortening the length of the traffic jam.
Of the five cars he labelled as “cars waiting their turn to merge,” only one actually is: the one in front of the “jackass,” who was presumably a jackass himself. The rest of them prematurely merged.
So there.
I couldn’t agree more.
