If you’re an “early merger,” you might think you’re being nice, but you’re backing up traffic even further. If you’re a “late merger,” people will think you’re a jerk, but you’re maximizing road space, shortening the length of the traffic jam. Of the five cars he labelled as “cars waiting their turn to merge,” only one actually is: the one in front of the “jackass,” who was presumably a jackass himself. The rest of them prematurely merged. So there. I couldn’t agree more.
